Our commitment to transparency
Bridgeplay is committed to being open and honest about commercial relationships that may influence the content we publish. This page explains how advertising, affiliate arrangements, and sponsored material are handled on our site — and what that means for you as a visitor.
We believe transparency is the foundation of a trustworthy relationship. The following disclosures are provided in accordance with FTC guidelines and applicable advertising standards.
1. Affiliate relationships
From time to time, the Bridgeplay website may contain links to third-party tools, platforms, or services through affiliate programs. This means that if you click on certain links and make a purchase or sign up for a service, Bridgeplay may receive a commission or referral fee at no additional cost to you.
- Program participation: Bridgeplay may participate in affiliate programs offered by game development tools, hosting services, or software providers relevant to game studios. Participation does not influence the editorial independence of our content.
- Commission-based links: When affiliate links are present, we aim to label them clearly where possible. You are under no obligation to use them — alternative routes to the same product typically exist.
- Recommendation policy: Bridgeplay only recommends tools and services that we believe are genuinely useful for game studios. Financial relationships do not automatically result in a recommendation, and we reserve the right to review or remove any such relationship.
- Financial transparency: Affiliate income, where it exists, helps offset the cost of maintaining the site. It does not affect the pricing of Bridgeplay's own services, which are set independently.
2. Sponsored content
If any content on the Bridgeplay site has been produced in exchange for payment or other compensation from a third party, it will be clearly identified as sponsored. Our current policy is as follows:
- Labelling: Sponsored posts, articles, or pages will be clearly marked as "Sponsored" or "Paid partnership" at the top of the relevant content.
- Editorial standards: Even where content is sponsored, Bridgeplay retains editorial control over the claims made and the accuracy of information presented. We do not publish sponsored content that we believe to be misleading.
- Brand partnerships: Any brand partnerships or collaborations that influence content will be disclosed at the point of publication. The nature of the partnership will be explained clearly.
- Authenticity: Bridgeplay will not publish sponsored content that contradicts our general views or misleads visitors about the quality or suitability of a product.
3. Third-party advertising
Bridgeplay may use third-party advertising networks to display advertisements on the site. These networks may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads relevant to your interests.
- Ad networks: Display advertising, where used, may be served by networks including Google AdSense or similar services operating under their own privacy and data policies.
- Behavioural targeting: Ad networks may use browsing data to show you advertisements they consider relevant. This is based on cookies and device identifiers, subject to your consent choices.
- Cookie usage: Advertising-related cookies are subject to your consent, as managed through our cookie preferences tool. If you have declined advertising cookies, targeted ads will not be served to you from this site.
- Personalisation: Where ad personalisation is enabled based on your consent, ad networks may use your browsing patterns to tailor what is shown. This data is processed under the ad network's privacy policy, not ours.
4. Your rights and controls
You have meaningful control over how advertising-related data is used in connection with your visit to Bridgeplay.
- Ad preference management: You can manage your cookie consent preferences — including advertising cookies — via our Cookie Policy page at any time.
- Opt-out options: You can opt out of interest-based advertising through industry tools such as the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) opt-out page or your browser's cookie settings. Opting out does not mean you'll see no ads — only that they won't be personalised.
- Data collection: Any personal data collected for advertising purposes (via cookies you have consented to) is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Rights under privacy regulations: Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations regarding data collected in connection with advertising. See our Privacy Policy for how to exercise these rights.
